It's Not You, It's Mercury Retrograde
Have you been feeling funky the past few weeks? It may be comforting to know that you’re not alone. It seems that many of us have been feeling out of sorts; we’re at the tail-end of winter—that awkward in-between period that makes us eager for sunshine and rising temperatures. It’s a weird time in general, but our solar system sister Mercury may have something to do with it. It seems to be a common thread in our astrologically-inclined generation to blame confusion, miscommunication and general problems on Mercury Retrograde. Regardless of what you may believe in, is it really that far-fetched to embrace the idea that the vast, celestial unknown plays a role in our lives?
Is it just me, or is 2019 flying by? Mercury Retrograde began on March 5th and will conclude on March 28th when it stations directly into Pisces. Once it’s over, you can anticipate a breath of fresh air and a weight lifted off your back. Dust the dirt off your shoulders and view this as a chance to accept your recent circumstances as a period of growth, self-awareness and rejuvenation.
Pisces symbolizes imagination, creativity, emotion, romance and wisdom, while Mercury is the messenger of communication, self-expression and possibilities. On the dark side, it can bring about anxiety, confusion, indecisiveness and self-doubt. Don’t freak out, but keep this in mind as an opportunity to conquer any inner demons. Fear not, my friends! It’s all about the attitude, and if you can find a correlation between these two astrological themes, you may unearth some subconscious awareness within yourself. We’ve just entered the Aries cycle, which brings about positive energy, ambition, extroversion, innovation and confidence. Regardless of your sign, the Aries energy may affect you without your realization. This astrological timing will last until late April, so you can anticipate these elements to play a role into your cosmic being within the next month or so.
What does Mercury Retrograde mean for your sign? After March 28th, we can breathe a sigh of relief until the next retrograde occurrences that are premeditated for July and October. If you’re curious, check out how this applies to your sign.
So, what shall we make of this planetary crisis? Take a deep breath, jot down some notes regarding self-reflection, and do some navel-gazing of your innermost self. There’s a great, big universe out there. Why not embrace it?
