What Sport Should You Watch According to your Zodiac Sign?

Let’s be real–sports can be hit or miss, you either love them or hate them. They can be intense, dramatic, or boring enough to give us an excuse to sit on the couch with a snack. What if there was a way to know which sports might pique your interest? Your zodiac sign could be the secret to unlocking your secret sports passion.

In this short guide, I’ll match each zodiac sign with a sport that aligns with common traits and quirks they may have. So sit tight and watch your astrological sports destiny unfold.

Aries (March 21-April 19) - Golf

Aries are often seen as confident, passionate, impatient, independent, and sometimes selfish. They have an “every man for themselves” mentality, diving headfirst into challenges with heavy motivation.

I chose golf for Aries due to their preference to compete and perform alone. Golf is known for its etiquette and high prestige which requires a lot of technique and focus.

Here’s a list of Aries golfers, past and present: Tom Broders, Wesley Bryan, Shane Lowry, and Jim Barnes.

Taurus (April 20-May 20) - gymnastics

Taurus’ are often seen as stubborn, dependable, jealous, patient, determined, artistic, grounded, and logical. They love challenges because of how quickly, or gracefully they overcome them since they’ve already prepared themselves for anything that may get in the way.

I chose gymnastics for Taurus because of their love of control. Gymnastics requires balance, strength, and endurance, and a Taurus will not let anything challenge them for too long.

Here is a list of Taurus gymnasts, past and present: Rebeca Andrade, Amelie Morgan, Felix Dolci, and Jacquie Beltrao.

Gemini (May 21-June 20) - soccer

Geminis are often seen as curious, adaptable, intelligent, indecisive, and communicative. They’re always up to try something new due to their short attention spans.

I chose soccer for Geminis because they love spontaneity and fear being alone. Soccer is known for its teamwork, but each player can also be known for how they perform alone.

Here is a list of Gemini soccer players, past and present: Kai Havertz, Sergio Agüero, Rafael Leão, and Tobin Heath.

Cancer (June 21-July 22) - Swimming

Cancers are often seen as moody, emotional, protective, intuitive, creative, and self-aware. They’re drawn to the comfort of the familiar, as well as art.

I chose swimming for Cancer because of their comfort in routine. Swimming is known for its rigorous training and the long hours in the pool.

Here is a list of Cancer swimmers, past and present: Michael Phelps, Ryan Murphy, Kaylee McKeown, and Kyle Chalmers.

Leo (July 23-August 22) - American football

Leos are often seen as loyal, egotistical, stubborn, generous, honest, and confident. They’re natural leaders, who have a tendency to be dramatic, and love exclusivity.

These traits led me right to American football. Stereotypically, American football players are muscle-obsessed and full of themselves. When it comes to the game, it takes someone with a lot of determination, strength, and confidence to succeed, making Leos the perfect candidate.

Here is a list of Leo American football players, past and present: Jalen Hurts, Tom Brady, Tim Tebow, and Deion Sanders.

Virgo (August 23-September 22) - tennis

Virgos are often seen as hardworking, reliable, modest, analytical, detail-oriented, patient, and precise. They’re very particular, love to feel useful, and are not very rational.

I chose tennis for Virgo because of their particularness and detail-oriented nature. Tennis players often need lots of coordination, strategy, and work ethic.

Here is a list of Virgo tennis players, past and present: Althea Gibson, Dominic Theim, Jimmy Connors, and Ons Jabeur.

Libra (September 23-October 22) - volleyball

Libras are often seen as charming, diplomatic, cooperative, idealistic, and avoidant. They can be quick to anger at times and they care about the opinions of others.

Due to these traits, I chose volleyball for Libras. Volleyball is known for its tough nature and if you play volleyball, you need to know how to work on a team and cooperate.

Here is a list of Libra volleyball players, past and present: Jordan Larson, Melissa Vargas, Tobias Krick, and Zoe Fleck.

Scorpio (October 23-November 21) - boxing

Scorpios can be known for being obsessive, ambitious, secretive, aggressive, intelligent, honest, and passionate. They can oftentimes come off as aloof and they tend to become overwhelmed by their passion.

I chose boxing for Scorpios because of their obsessive nature and their need to be the best. Boxing takes a headstrong individual and someone who has mental toughness and determination.

Here is a list of Scorpio boxers, past and present: Devin Haney, Sean Garcia, Nicola Adams, and David Tua.

Sagittarius (November 22-December 21) - rowing

Optimistic, adventurous, blunt, friendly, adaptable, energetic, and philosophical are terms used to describe a Sagittarius. Known for their love of freedom, I thought they needed a sport that granted them that.

I chose rowing for Sagittarius’ because of the freedom that can be felt being in the water. Yes, they have to work on a team, but Sags can adapt and look on the bright side.

Here is a list of Sagittarius rowers, past and present: Kate Johnson, Adam Kreek, and Katherine Copeland.

Capricorn (December 22-January 19) - basketball

Capricorns can be described as pessimistic, disciplined, sensitive, practical, hardworking, and relentless. They’re determined to overcome whatever stands in their way, however, they also like structure and repetition.

Basketball seemed fitting for Capricorns due to its fast-moving nature, but also the repetition and discipline it requires.

Here is a list of Capricorn basketball players, past and present: Lebron James, Dwayne Wade, Collin Sexton, and Alex English.

Aquarius (January 20-February 18) - baseball

Eccentric, unique, humanitarian, rebellious, intellectual, aloof, and innovative, are all terms that describe Aquarius’. They love teamwork, connection, and community, but also love to be detached.

Those traits are exactly why I chose baseball. Baseball is a team sport, but it also requires individuality when it comes to stepping up to the plate and running bases.

Here is a list of Aquarius baseball players, past and present: Jackie Robinson, Babe Ruth, Jazz Chisholm Jr., and Alex Gordon.

Pisces (February 19-March 20) - surfing

Pisces can be described as empathetic, romantic, emotional, escapist, and artistic. They’re not self-absorbed but absorbed in themselves.

They feel things very intensely, which is why I chose surfing for Pisces. Surfing requires years of dedication, but it can be a form of escape since you surf alone, usually in a big body of water.

Here is a list of Pisces surfers, past and present: Alana Blanchard, Josh Kerr, Lisa Anderson, and Mark Richards.
