NYFW Designer Pop Up Part 1: JUS10H
The NYFW pop-up series, hosted by Fashion Mingle and DCG Media Group, began on Monday, Feb. 10. This series was held in Covergirl’s brick-and-mortar store in Times Square. Along with free makeovers, discounted products, and hors d’oeuvres, there was the opportunity to meet with some of the best indie designers in the industry.
Justin Haynes is the CEO and founder of JUS10H. His brand’s target audience ranges from children through adults, catering to both genders. Even with such a wide audience, he has narrowed down his favorite items to be dresses and blazers. The brand has been featured in numerous magazines and Haynes has won the National Fashion & Lifestyle award from the National Business Association. He says he never expected to come this far.
From zero customers to a 10k+ following, Justin Haynes has worked his way up to success. He knew what he wanted to do, and it didn’t matter how much support he had. During our interview, Haynes said to me, “if you start it, stay consistent. Don’t let anything discourage you. When I started, I didn’t have any customers… don’t let it stop you. If this is your passion, your dream, what you want to do, stay consistent.”
Along with that, he added, “Fashion’s been my dream for years, so, basically since middle school it’s been a passion of mine. I wanted to be a fashion designer, I wanted to be a tailor, I wanted to be somebody well known. I’ve been doing this for ten years now and that’s when it all started is being a dream of mine.”
Justin Hayne’s collection is titled “Tailored and Scrapped.” This collection is a combination of blue denim and scrap fabrics blended into tailored garments. It is an opportunity to find his own twist on patchwork through dresses, vests, pants, and more. The collection is unique and colorful and perfect for every size, race, and gender.
