Nail Salons Out: Press-on Nails In

Source: LiliumNails

Quarantine may be ending for some, but throughout the past two months nail salons have been closed and everyone’s nails were not looking too hot. Grown out, chipped polish, you name it. Some people, however, are more patient than others and have taken it upon themselves to paint their own nails or learn to do their own acrylics. But, what about the people that wait for stylish nails and the nail techs that can’t open up shop? The answer to this is press-on nails. I’m not talking about the Kiss ones from CVS for $6. Some nail techs have decided to spend their time practicing their skills with press-on nails and selling them to customers.

That’s right, custom press-on nails delivered right to your door. These cute nails are plastered all over Instagram, Twitter, and Pinterest. Short or long, solid colors or intricate designs—one can find any affordable style and feel satisfied with their at-home manicure.

Purgatory Nails

Purgatory Nails is known for their long nails and 3D designs. All custom-to-order and shipped in the cutest packaging, resembling meat packaging with a neon twist. If you want out-there nails, Purgatory is perfect. Designer-inspired and cherry patterns are always popular with nail techs and they do a great job enhancing these nail trends in a unique way.

Jazzed Up Cosmetics

Jazzed Up was founded on Instagram and is known for its fake lashes, lip gloss, accessories, and more recently, their press-on nails. One can find colorful sparkly nails that are inspired by nail trends on Pinterest. A set of these nails typically costs $13 to $30. They even provide a nail sizing kit so you know what size to order, or you can do your own.

Take out Nails

A newcomer to the nail scene, Take Out Nails, are sold on Shopify and recently went viral on Twitter. Twitter’s favorite set is the Dior butterfly nails, featuring blue and white polish. These nails are trendy, stylish, and high quality. Take Out may not have many followers, but the nails are cute and worth a follow for inspiration.

Amazon

If you’re on a budget, as many people are, you may not want to drop $30 to $70 for the press-on nails. Amazon has a wide selection of stylish press on nail kits. Anything from nudes, colors, designs, metallics, marble, gemstones—you can find them on Amazon for more affordable prices. While many decide to support nail techs through ordering online, you can still decide to go the cheaper route and purchase these press-on sets.

Will DIY and press-on nails replace nail salons? Some people love nail salons for the experience, not just the product. People may be itching to get back to the salons to get their nails done, relax, and have a reason to leave the house. For younger creatives, however, there may be a change for them when it comes to doing their own nails or ordering from their favorite Instagram nail tech, even after they can hit the salons again.
