iShirt: Top 10 Iconic Penny-Tee’s from iCarly

A wise man—Will Ferrel—once said “No one knows what it means, but it’s provocative! It gets the people going!” That is exactly my outlook on the Penny Tees from the 2007 Nickelodeon show iCarly. With the zany sitcom making a massive comeback thanks to its arrival on Netflix, I thought it was only right to take a trip down nostalgia lane and bring you the Top 10 funniest, nonsensical, and downright random Penny Tee’s from this iconic show (let’s be honest you know you wanted one).

10: Church Pants

I really would not be able to explain why this is my favorite. It just sits right with my spirit.

This doesn’t even begin to scratch the surface of how many of these ridiculous penny-tees displayed on this beloved-late-2000s-show, but it does give you a good idea of iCarly’s hilarious wardrobe. ICarly shaped and influenced a whole generation’s sense of humor with its crazy plotlines, weird jokes, and all-around good vibes. Since coming to Netflix in February 2021, it has not only sparked a renewed interest and appreciation in us older Gen-Zers, but it has now been introduced to a younger generation. The shows today are not doing it as iCarly did and I don’t think they ever could. Someone on Twitter said, “iCarly shirts walked so Forever 21 could run.” Let’s be serious Carly, Sam, and Freddy were the original social media influencers, and if the insane amount of buzz on Twitter and Instagram doesn’t show the stronghold those characters still have —what will? If I could buy one of these shirts today I’d buy 10. Fingers crossed they make a comeback.
