Surely, you’ve heard all about your zodiac sign and which crystal is best suited for your lifestyle, but have you ever thought about what Moon phase is occurring? The placement of the Moon in relation to the Earth can affect us quite a bit depending on what phase it’s in.

With four main Lunar Phases comes four different—but equally as powerful—energies; each of which you can harness to bring your manifestations to fruition.

It can get a little confusing to understand what each phase can do for us. So, here is the breakdown of what each part of the Lunar Cycle creates, and what to do during that time.

The New Moon:

The New Moon is seen as the beginning of the Lunar Cycle and it represents rebirth and intention setting. You can tell we are in a New Moon when there is no visible moon in the sky.

The main goal for the New Moon is to make way for all of the upcoming lunar events by cleansing and releasing old energies.

During this lunar phase, take the time to cleanse your space as well as yourself and set clear goals for the weeks ahead. Make sure to very clearly set your intentions while manifesting so you can really utilize the New Moon. The rituals below are a perfect way to start off a new cycle.

The Waxing Moons:

In this phase, the moon appears to grow. This part of the cycle actually accounts for three different phases—the crescent, first quarter, and gibbous moons. They all have subtle differences, but because they are all the waxing—the first half of the cycle—moons, they all represent the same thing: Taking action

During this multi-night period, take time to map out steps on how to reach the goals you set during the New Moon. In this phase, it's not really necessary to do any specific rituals, so long as you take steps towards your goal. Utilize the lunar energy to put intention towards where you want to go and harness that energy to go out and do it.

The Full Moon:

Ah yes, the phase that is perhaps the most infamous— the Full Moon. Though the actual Full Moon only occurs once a month, its energy spans the lengths of around three. As to be expected, the Full Moon’s energy is the strongest and is thus perfect for manifestation.

During this quintessential phase, make sure to show gratitude to yourself and the universe. Find a window and take a seat in the moonlight to ensure that you harness the full moon's energy in its entirety. Don't forget to set out a glass of water to create the energy-enhancing moon water.

The Waning Moons:

The final section of the Lunar Cycle is the Waning Moon phase. Just like its waxing counterpart, Waning Moons consist of the gibbous, last quarter, and crescent. In this phase, the moon appears to be decreasing into a sliver.

Being the end-tail of the cycle, this last half consists mainly of release. This release can be in all aspects of life, including bad behaviors, patterns, or even individuals that don’t serve your highest good. It is a time to focus on yourself and what you need, as well as a time to look inward at your thoughts and feelings.

No matter what phase you see when you look into the night sky, it’s no question that the Moon has luminous energy and untold power. And just as the tide is, we too can feel the pull towards this celestial beauty. And hey, if its over-case theres always an app to show you the way. I myself use Moon Phase and Lunar Calendar!
