The Ugg Ultra Mini Boots Trend Through the Eyes of Influencers
“Wearing Uggs when I was younger was more for function,” Valerie Zhang, an NYC-based fashion influencer tells me. “Now, I wear them more for fashion.”
I’m sure it never crossed your mind to sift through your middle school wardrobe to find pieces you can style today. But, this fall, Uggs are making a comeback, and I suggest you get with the program.
I’m not talking about the Tall Ugg boots that were decorated in silk bows, this autumn, the classic shoe has taken a new form. The Ultra Mini Boots are all the rage as icons such as Bella Hadid, Keke Palmer, and Emily Ratajkowski have been spotted sporting the shoe.

The Ugg Ultra Mini boots come in 22 different colors and cost $30 less than your staple Ugg boots. Also, you can get these boots in the platform version as well. I don’t see a reason not to hop on this hot trend.
If you’re worried that purchasing these will send you way too far back into the early 2000s, there are endless possibilities when it comes to styling these. The Ultra Mini Uggs have been paired with everything from sweat sets to knit dresses.

Griffin Maxwell Brooks, an influencer with an Instagram following of 103K and over 1M TikTok followers has been sporting the Ultra Mini Uggs in their everyday life.
Brooks tells me that they initially got their pair of Ugg Ultra Minis (platform) as a part of a brand deal. But, after seeing how the internet went “feral,” in Brooks's words, over the iconic photo of Bella Hadid wearing them while eating pizza, both Brooks and Zhang claim that's when they started buying into the trend.
“I love the feeling I get when wearing my Uggs,” Brooks says. “They [Ugg Ultra Mini Platforms] are the perfect combination of Ugg nostalgia mixed with a modern take on casual high fashion.”
For those of you who like to wear anything but casual clothing, don’t fret, Uggs can be worn with a Maison Margiela bag, just like Zhang loves to style them.
“I feel I can wear my Uggs with designer brands,” Zhang tells me, “I like to style them with a blazer for a more high-fashion look.”

Griffin Maxwell Brooks also agrees that the Ultra Mini Uggs are super versatile. “I was hesitant at first because I don’t opt for casual clothes,” they claim. “I will wear a corset to the library.”
“You can wear Ugg Ultra Minis to the club,” Brooks tells me.
The resurgence of Y2K fashion such as low-rise jeans, Juicy Couture sweatsuits, butterfly tops, and more have been consistent since 2020.
“Nightlife is a part of that post-pandemic mentality,” Brooks says, “so it makes sense that the Y2K club scene fashion is making a comeback.”

“Uggs are perfect for this aesthetic, platforms go with nightlife. Ugg speaks to the way fashion is moving now,” they leave me with.
Ugg has taken its brand to new heights. Once considered a shoe that was more so used for functionality, Uggs have immersed themselves into modern-day fashion.
“They [Ugg] are reaching Gen-Z with new eye-catching, futuristic designs,” claims Zhang.
“Besides the Ultra Mini Boots,” Zhang says, “I also wear a futuristic silver pair and some furry ones as well.”
Ugg has also begun releasing footwear that is adaptable to different weather conditions. Recently, they have launched everything from rain boots to flip-flops.
“Uggs are becoming a multi-seasonal brand,” says Zhang.
Both Zhang and Brooks agree that these shoes are an absolute must-have shoe.
Eleonora Skomorovskaya, a fashion student studying in Paris, also has bought into the Ugg Ultra Minis trend.
“I actually bought mine [Ugg Ultra Mini Boots] last spring, they were already trending by then,” Skomorovskaya tells me.
Skomorovskaya says that these shoes are a staple in her wardrobe since they pair well with so many different outfits.
“They are also the most comfortable winter boots,” she claims.
It is safe to say that the Ugg Ultra Mini Boots are both cute and comfortable, and can be worn in numerous locations.
