A Second Chance at Love: JLo & Ben Affleck Finally Tied the Knot
On Saturday, July 16th, Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck officially got married after reconciling their relationship 20 years later. The two wed at A Little White Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas at around 12:30 am. This was a surprise for many of us, but we are obviously happy the couple got their second chance at love and finally said “I do.”
According to Lopez’s newsletter, On the JLo, the wedding was exactly what they wanted. She says, “So with the best witnesses you could ever imagine, a dress from an old movie and a jacket from Ben’s closet, we read our own vows in the little chapel and gave one another the rings we’ll wear for the rest of our lives. They even had Bluetooth for a (short) march down the aisle. But in the end, it was the best possible wedding we could have imagined. One we dreamed of long ago and one made real (in the eyes of the state, Las Vegas, a pink convertible, and one another) at very, very long last.”

The (now) Mr. and Mrs. Affleck were engaged back in 2002, two decades ago, and decided to call off the engagement due to widespread negative media attention. They both went on to marry and have children with other people, as Lopez married and had two children with Marc Anthony in 2004, and Affleck married and had three children with Daredevil co-star Jennifer Garner in 2005. When they got engaged the first time around, JLo’s ring was a pink Harry Winston diamond that was valued at $1.2 million and called one of the rarest stones in the world at the time.
This time around, her engagement ring was a green diamond. According to BRIDES, the ring was “sourced by Ilan Portugal and designed by Tamara Rahaminov and Nicol Goldfiner, of Rahaminov Diamonds, Lopez's new engagement ring from Affleck features an 8.5ct. natural green diamond center stone, and is flanked by a pair of trapezoid-shaped white diamonds.”

As for their wedding day looks, the couple reportedly pulled from their own closets. Lopez wore two dresses for the occasion including one sleeveless full-skirted Alexander McQueen dress with floral jacquard detailing, a fitted bodice, and a jewel neckline. “I've had this dress for so many years, and I've just been saving it, saving it, saving it, and now I'm wearing it on my wedding day," Lopez states in her newsletter.
She then changed into a super chic white lace off-the-shoulder Zuhair Murad dress with long sleeves, a sweetheart neckline, corset bodice, and a fishtail train. She accessorized with a matching veil adorned with lace trim to finally exchange their vows. She collaborated with her hairstylist Chris Appleton for her hair-do which he called "less Vegas and more timeless." In true JLo fashion, she did her own makeup.

The couple has reportedly been spotted honeymooning in Paris since their wedding, just in time for Jennifer’s 53rd birthday. We are so happy for Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez and wish them all the best in this new, yet old relationship.
