The Best Looks from the 2022 VMAs

The annual MTV Video Music Awards has come and gone, and if you’ve been on Instagram in the past 24 hours, you’ve definitely seen a few red carpet looks on your feed. The VMAs red carpet is notorious for showcasing some amazing, out-of-the-box looks. Lady Gaga, we haven’t forgotten about your meat dress in 2010.

Let’s check out some of the celebrities that made a statement on the carpet at the 2022 VMAs.

Taylor Swift

I think it’s safe to say that Swifties all around the world are still trying to process Taylor Swift’s appearance on the red carpet last night. Not only was she the recipient of the Video of the Year Award, but she also announced her new album, Midnights, which will be released on October 21st, 2022.

As always she kept her fans fed by serving us two iconic looks at the VMAs—including one that alludes to the new album.

Her first look of the night was a full crystal gown by Oscar de la Renta that featured a matching eye look. Coming off the big win, Swift attended an after-party in a midnight blue Moschino look that featured some fur and star embellishments.

Dylan o’brien

It would only be right to mention Dylan O’Brien’s look after Swift’s, considering they attended the VMAs together.

O’Brien stepped out in a Bode floral suit which was topped off by some gold chains and a pair of Ray Bans. Dylan O’Brien attended the VMAs for his involvement in the iconic All Too Well short film alongside Stranger Things star Sadie Sink.

Sofia Carson brought some drama to the carpet in an all-black hooded Carolina Herrera gown. The star has been all the rage after her role in the 2022 Netflix Original film, Purple Hearts. Though the VMAs are typically known for more spunky looks, we always appreciate a classic look such as Carson’s.

lil nas x

Not many can pull off a red carpet quite like the rapper Lil Nas X. Though Nas stuck to an all-black color scheme, let’s just say his look was a bit more flamboyant than Carson’s. The rapper graced the carpet with his presence in a stunning, feathered look from Harris Reed.

anitta

Brazilian singer Anitta lit up the carpet in a red Schiaparelli gown. The star won the Latin Video award at this year for her song “Envolver.” Vogue reveals that Anitta’s red-hot look was an “ode to Brazil.”

Sabrina Carpenter

Coming fresh off the release of her recent album, emails i can’t send, Sabrina Carpenter made an appearance on the 2022 VMAs carpet. Carpenter wore an adorable floral Moschino dress that featured some cut-outs around the waist—to add a bit of spice, of course. We can’t get enough of this sexy, sparkly look.

snoop dog

Last, but never least, we have an iconic look from Snoop Dog. The rapper showed up on the VMAs carpet in his signature tracksuit, shades, paired with camouflage Converse. Snoop Dog also performed with his friend and fellow rapper Eminem at the award show this year.
