We're Back Witches: Everything You Need to Know About Hocus Pocus 2

Something wicked this way comes again…

No need to fear, your favorite witches are coming back just in time for spooky season. The Sanderson sisters are making their return to the big screen with their new film, Hocus Pocus 2. The film will stream exclusively on Disney Plus beginning on September 30th, 2022.

Before we tell you everything you need to know about this iconic sequel, you’re going to need to make sure you set the mood.

To everyone who told you that you couldn’t buy your Target dollar section pumpkins in September—they can go straight to the cauldron. Once you’ve got all your decor, a cozy blanket, and snacks (obviously) in check, you’ll be all set to stream Hocus Pocus 2.

This film is a sequel to the original Hocus Pocus that aired in 1993. If you are a fan of this Halloween classic, you’ll be pleased to find out the old cast is coming back! Sarah Jessica Parker, Bette Midler, and Kathy Najimy are all reprising their roles as the iconic Sanderson sisters. There will also be some new faces on screen, including Whitney Peak from Gossip Girl and Ginger Minj from season 6 of RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars.

The film will revolve around the Sanderson sisters navigating modern-day Salem after a teenager revives them. With new technology such as iPhones, things could get a bit scary for these witches. The Sanderson’s mission is to become immortal, but as Insider describes it, they are “thwarted by the teen, his younger sister, his classmate-turned-love-interest, and a talking cat […].”

Movie lovers, we are in for a treat this spooky season. We are so eager to see the sequel to this beloved Halloween movie. If you haven’t watched the first Hocus Pocus, we suggest checking it out before tuning into the sequel.
