MoistureBUY Your Face a New Feel: My Top Two Hyaluronic Serums of 2022
As someone who struggles with dry skin, finding the right serum can be challenging. But, once finding the perfect ones, they quickly became a girl’s best friend. This year, I managed to find two serums that work for my skin type.. finally.
The two serums are The Lab Oligo Hyaluronic Acid Boosting Ampoule and the Drunk Elephant B-Hydra Intensive Hydration Serum. Both serums have their strengths and weaknesses. By no means are they my holy grail products just yet, but they’re two great new skincare products to give a try!
I stumbled upon this product while watching a Korean fashion YouTuber who was doing a "Get ready with me" video. I was in search of a good hyaluronic serum and I'm a sucker for any Korean skincare. So, I searched for the best website to have it shipped to me from Korea. I'm currently halfway through the bottle and so far, it has saved my skin from complete dryness.
My skincare routine begins with cleansing, which often leaves my skin feeling dry and tight. But oh boy, this serum manages to make my skin feel hydrated and supple after applying three drops! I apply one drop of serum to each cheek and the forehead. The product does not become tacky like other serums on the market. Instead, it soaks in the skin and leaves it feeling smooth.
I began to see results in my skin after two weeks of using the serum. However, I am not consistent in remembering to do my skincare routine every morning and night. This may cause different people to see different results. A major plus to The Lab serum is the lack of chemical smell. Many serums I have used have a strong chemical smell that is off-putting when applied. The Lab Oligo Hyaluronic Acid Boosting Ampoule is gentle and great for those with sensitive skin.
The Drunk Elephant B-Hydra Intensive Hydration Serum is on the pricier side of serum, but it's somehow worth it. Hear me out! I discovered Drunk Elephant at the beginning of this year when my skin was severely dry. I bought this serum with their moisturizer, which is also a product I really love.
To be fair, I have abandoned this serum for The Lab one, but by no means do I think The Lab is any better. Drunk Elephant's serum has its own unique feel and workings that make me love it just as much. The consistency is what makes it different from other serums; it has a milk jelly consistency that is great for dry skin and also does not leave a sticky film on the skin.
I loved how the Drunk Elephant serum left my skin glowing and radiant after applying tow pumps of product on my cheeks! I honestly haven't given this serum a run for its money, and after this, I might just pick it up again. I find you really get what you pay for with B-hydra and I saw improvement in my dry skin after a week and a half. The serum paired with their moisturizer was practically a godsend. There's a bit of a scent to this product but nothing overwhelming.
My thoughts:
All in all, both of these products saved my skin from its severe dryness. Both products are serums I would re-purchase and keep in my skincare routine. The Lab Oligo Hyaluronic Acid Boosting Ampoule does take a bit longer to begin seeing results. Although, as I mentioned previously, I was not as consistent with this product as I was with Drunk Elephant's B-Hydra serum.
As for the Drunk Elephant B-Hydra Intensive Hydration serum is pricy and there are definitely dupes out there that may be easier on your bank account, but this serum does get rid of dryness; my skin felt so supple and bouncy when using this product. It has a slight smell but nothing that is overpowering.
In this case, I would have to say I prefer the Drunk Elephant B-Hydra Intensive Hydration Serum, for now. I really loved how it made my skin look and feel. It's one of those products you cannot stop raving about, it will not be leaving my skincare routine anytime soon.
