Streaming Now: Our Spring 2023 Watch List

With the excitement of the New Year finally passing, It’s time to start binging our favorite shows once again—your gym resolution can wait another month. This spring, new seasons are airing, and new shows are taking over Twitter’s explore page. Here’s what’s on our watch list for this spring.


Abbott Elementary Season 2

The Emmy-award winning mockumentary took over our tv’s in 2021 and stole our attention. The sophomore season of Abbott Elementary premiered last September on ABC and concluded as a twenty-two episode series.

If you are unfamiliar with the show, it follows a documentary crew as they record the lives of teachers working in the underfunded, predominantly black school Abbott Elementary from Philadelphia. Much of the cast has been nominated and won awards from Golden Globes to Emmy’s including Quinta Brunson, Tyler James Williams, Janelle James, Lisa Ann Walter, Chris Perfetti, Sheryl Lee Ralph and William Standford Davis. This incredible sitcom that you don’t want to miss.


The Last of Us

Based on the 2013 video game, ‘The Last of Us’ takes place twenty years post-apocalypse after a fungal infection that transforms humans into zombie-like creatures, destroying society. Starring Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey, the tv adaptation airs Sundays weekly on HBO Max and is already watched by 4.7 million viewers within its series premiere. Good news, even with just four episodes out the series was renewed for a second season. 


Bel-Air Season 2

Peacock airs a reimagined version of the nostalgic sitcom The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, which follows Will Smith as he deals with culture shock and racial tensions. Living with his family, he transforms from a young boy in the streets of West Philadelphia to a man in the mansions of Bel-Air.

Similar to its original series, Bel-Air puts a modern twist to the classic tale. Filled with relevant issues regarding sexuality, representation, and identity. This drama series takes a dark turn. Prepare yourselves for the Prince of Bel-air. 

Jabari Banks, Olly Sholotan, Coco Jones, Simone Joy Jones, Jordan L. Jones, Akira Akbar, Cassandra Freeman, Adrian Holmes, and Jimmy Akingbola all star in the series which is now getting ready to air its second season on February 23rd, 2023.


Outer Banks Season 3

Set in North Carolina, Outer Banks is the town divided between wealthy residences known as the “Kooks” versus the minority and less fortunate, “Pogues”. With Chase Stookes, Madelyn Cline, Madison Bailey, Jonathan Daviss, Rudy Pankow, Carlacia Grant, Austin North, Charles Estan and Drew Starkey, we follow the action-adventure mystery drama airing only on Netflix.

Season 3, also set to premiere on February 23rd, 2023, will bring on new dynamics and new challenges. Once you start you can’t stop, It’s like our protagonist John B says, “Once a Pogue, always a Pogue.” 


You Season 4

The psychological thriller featuring everyone's favorite gossip girl, Penn Badgley returns for Season 4, Part 1 of his hit show YOU on Netflix. After episodes of stalking his love victims, and committing multiple murders, Joe Goldberg, starts this two-part season off in London, with yet again a fake identity and the means to humbly stalk his previous runaway love interest. Hopefully we see less bodies this go around.
