Olivia Rodrigo kicked off her tour in Palm Springs, California. She began the show with bad idea right? Similarly, with her SOUR Tour, she opened up with brutal, starting off pop and turning into hard drums and basses. She had an enticing mix of both albums.
In the midst of her show, Rodrigo had songs from sad ballads like favorite crime, lacy, traitor, to the loud bass of good 4 u, all-american b**tch, and ballad of a homeschooled girl.
For her encore, she performed good 4 u to rock on and ended the show with a thrilling get him back performance. There are so many songs that brought fans an immense amount of joy, eager for more.
Production
Many facets of this tour are filled with great things. But one thing that Olivia’s team did right was the production for these shows, from performing in small venues and by herself to an entire dance crew and much larger stages.
She shines throughout the night with shocking choreography and more mature outfits. With new visuals and a camera that follows her, fans get a good perspective of the show.
You can feel and visually see that the singer is growing more comfortable with her identity as a singer. Of course, things will only get bigger and better from here.
Outfits
Showcasing that she is an absolute star, Rodrigo's outfits have many hints of stars. She started the show with a white cropped tank with “Just A Girl” written across it, high-waisted sequin shorts, and black-tinted tights with bedazzled star shapes.
The singer wore a matching black sequined set with fishnet tights. Later, she wore the same set but with an iridescent chained dress. She also matched the fishnet tights and wore a silver sequin two-piece bralette and skirt set.
Continuing the sparkled theme, she wore a sequined bold red bodysuit with the same star tights. Olivia Rodrigo lives the teenage dream with her ‘Stargirl’ tour looks.
A Romantic Guest Appearance
Of course, the whole population of the Olivia Rodrigo fanbase, livies, saw her boyfriend Louis Partridge at her Palm Springs show.
In a clip from a fan on TikTok, you can hear Partridge, in complete admiration, say, “Wow, she looks beautiful,” while Rodrigo is singing an emotion-filled performance of a traitor.
A clip with over 4 million views has fans gushing over the couple’s romance. Fans only hope he appears at other shows to see more of these moments.
Stage Presence
Having love is embarrassing on the setlist, but Rodrigo’s stage presence was on another level. The singer paired the song with a fun, freeing, and funky choreography.
To the ‘livies’ surprise, at her first show, the star performed a sultry performance one of her unreleased songs obsessed. Keeping her fans in a chokehold from the first show makes fans anticipate more for future shows.
