Considering a new change? I shifted from oBoticário’s matte traditional “Cuide-se Bem” lipstick to Covergirl’s trendy “Yummy” gloss one and this was my experience.

Shine shine shine like a Bratz. Most of us have noticed how the 2000s are back, the Y2k trend is popping in absolutely every advertisement. Well… I cannot deny that the nostalgia in me pulled me into the trend as well. That being the case, and with the excuse that I was almost running out of lipstick, I decided to start my own adventure looking for a change from my traditional lipstick to a “Y2k ” style one and this is the result:

Clean Fresh Yummy Gloss by Covergirl – $12.00

Melted lollipop, literally. First, these lipsticks got me because I found them inside a very charming and brightly lit glass case in CVS’s make-up aisle when I was on my hunt. Indeed, it looks like the visual merchandisers/designers of Covergirl are showcasing this product very well. The glass case had some cloudy and shiny style mixed with some advertisement quotes in “Y2k” style font. Eventually, these caught my attention like a child inside the candy store. The thing is that these lipsticks look very similar to a lollipop. So, I got it. Admittedly, I was expecting more…I would say that the package design and product concept is the best about these lipsticks. The product is extremely sticky and feels so thick as soon as applied. From the first time you get the product from the container it feels and sounds ultra-sticky and then makes as mess when opening it. I can’t deny it is glossy and smells like candy. In addition, it looks like it is made with clean and vegan ingredients, but it is way too sticky.

Cuide-se Bem moisturizer lipstick by oBoticário – $7.00

Soft and healthy. I’ve tried this matte lipstick a long time ago because my mom recommended it to me. I’ve always preferred mate lipsticks and it turns out that this one is not only matte but very healthy as well. oBoticário is a Brazilian beauty brand and they are very well recognized for being a vegan, cruelty free, fair, and healthy brand with more than 20 years of experience and this product is the absolute proof of that. This lipstick is super moisturizing, and the ingredients feel very natural. Additionally, this one lasts for a long time and let’s admit it, the package design of this product is absolutely cute!

In conclusion, I would stay with my traditional matte lipstick, this product definitely feels way more natural and healthier while looking good. The glossy one looks interesting but it is way too heavy.
