Tale Of Two Cities Look Book: Miami and NYC

Summer is almost over and back-to-school may be around the corner or already here for you. So, you’re going to need some fresh new looks to transition from summer into the fall season. Fashion Director Sofia Naranjo and Fashion Editor Ian Grafvonluxburg are giving us two separate look books that tell a tale of two popular east coast cities. These lookbooks display some great transition pieces, summer essentials, and classic accessories.

305 to my city

Sofia is currently spending her summer in Miami, while also trying to social distance. In the comfort and safety of her home, she shows us four looks that are perfect for beating the heat and for looking fresh for your first day back in class. Armed with a chic and effortless sense of style, and her self-timer camera, Naranjo gave us a look into her personal style. Whether it’s jeans with embroidered motifs, blazers to classy up your class looks, or the perfect pair of yellow trousers, Naranjo made us feel like we were living it up in the heat of the 305.

back in the concrete jungle

Ian on the other hand stayed in NYC for the summer, and as the city opens back up, he shares looks from not only himself but a couple of friends as well. The looks are equally as graphic and vibrant as their surroundings. These fits are the perfect way to step your style up as you venture back out into the world or into the classroom. Prints as loud as Times Square, vibrant color contrasts, and street style for days, Grafvonluxburg captured the feeling of a reawakening city.

As summer dwindles and the fall season starts to creep up, make sure you have some staple transition pieces to amp up your style. Trends may come and go, but certain summer fashion pieces are here to stay. Inspiration is always around us, and that’s what Ian and Sofia wanted to provide as students kick off a new semester or simply starting a new season on a strong and authentic note. Style is personal and unique, but we can all connect with trends and taste with each season from around the world—or simply American cities like NYC and Miami.
