Invite Only: The Beyoncé Concert We All “Missed”
Over the past weekend many celebrities, influencers, and journalists secretly packed their bags and took a casual trip to Dubai. Little did the public know, on Saturday night behind the facades of a Tarte Cosmetics influencer trip and casual vacation plans was an extravagant Beyoncé concert. Yes, the Queen Bee is live once again!
Beyoncé’s first full concert in more than four years was part of the Atlantis Resorts “Grand Reveal” weekend in celebration of their new luxury Atlantis: The Royal in Dubai, set to open next month.
The $24 Million performance began with fireworks exploding above the venue, accompanied by violinists in metallic headpieces and dancers and musicians synced in harmony on an Egyptian-themed stage.
The Queen rose from a platform dressed to perfection in a yellow, corseted dress, designed by Dubai brand Atelier Zuhra. Decorated with matching feathered wings and accessories, she covered the song “At Last” by Etta James.
In support, her mother and father, Tina Knowles and Mathew Knowles, as well as her husband and children, Jay-Z, Blue Ivy, Rumi, and Sir Carter, were all in the audience. Celebrities including Chloe and Halle Bailey, Nia Long, Kendall Jenner, Rebel Wilson, Ellen Pompei, Winston Duke, and Letitia Wright were among the stars in attendance. Established journalists such as The Cut’s Editor-in-Chief, Lindsay Peoples Wagner, Allure’s Editor-in-Chief, Jessica Cruel, Vogue Editor Gabriella Karefa-Johnson, and many more were covering the performance.
Later in the evening, Mrs. Knowles-Carter's costume changed into a gorgeous red two-piece designed by Lebanese designer Nicolas Jebran.
The show went on to be a 19-song set, including her biggest hits from "Crazy In Love," "Naughty Girl" "Halo," and "XO.” But, the most memorable would have to be the heart-warming collaboration featuring award-winning, Blue Ivy, Beyoncé’s eldest daughter, in a live rendition of “Brown Skin Girl.”
She ended the night in a shimmering pink mini dress designed by the Ukrainian brand Frolovheart. Levitating once again over a pool of water, she belted rifts and adlibs of her iconic hit “Drunk in Love.”
Regardless of the strict no-phones policy adhered to by attendees, fans were still able to sneak peeks at the event, and social media was not quiet about it. It’s safe to say that this weekend had every Beyoncé fan screaming out of pure joy.
