The Rundown of an Unexpected Love Story: Taylor Swift & Travis Kelce
An unexpected rumored love story has risen between NFL football player Travis Kelce and Grammy award-winning singer Taylor Swift. The rumored romance shocked all ‘Swifties’ when the Kansas City Chiefs player made his interest known on his podcast, New Heights with his brother Jason Kelce.
Will this romance turn into the new “it” couple?
Here’s a rundown of their love story:
July 8th: Travis Kelce attends the era’s tour
Travis Kelce first showed interest in Swift when he attended one of her live shows on July 8th.
July 26th: Kelce Making his INTEREST known
On July 26th, Kelce made his interest known to Swift on his shared podcast with his brother, Jason Kelce. Kelce shared his intention of attending the concert was to gift Swift a friendship bracelet with his number on it. Trading friendship bracelets is a common theme throughout the Era’s Tour. However, he did not get the chance.
“I was disappointed that she doesn’t talk before or after her shows because she has to save her voice for the 44 songs that she sings,” Kelce states. “So I was a little butt-hurt I didn’t get to hand her one of the bracelets I made for her.”
Seemingly, Kelce took this personally, “She doesn’t meet anybody, or at least she didn’t want to meet me, so I took it personally.”
September 14th: Confirms his Interest in Swift
With the uproar of Kelce persuing Swift, many news outlets sought an interview with the NFL player. NFL host, Andrew Siciliano interviewed Kelce to address the rumors. Kelce confirmed his interest in Swift and admitted to attempting to get Swift’s attention with a friendship bracelet.
Kelce shares, “I said what I said. And I meant what I said when I said it. And you know what, it is what it is,” he said.
Siciliano proceeded to ask if Swift had answered any of Kelce’s attempts to which Kelce shutdown the question. “I’m not gonna talk about my personal life,” he states.
September 21st: Kelce leaves the Ball in Swift’s Court
Kelce attended The Pat McAfee Show where he shared he invited Swift to watch him play at his next game.
“I threw the ball in her court,” he said. “I told her, ‘I’ve seen you rock the stage in Arrowhead, you might have to come see me rock the stage in Arrowhead.’ We’ll see what happens in the near future.”
Kelce is surprised his interest in Swift has caused so much traction between Chief fans and Swift fans. He compares the traction to a game of telephone.
September 24th: Swift attends a Cheifs Game
Kansas City fans were shocked to see Swift take Kelce up on his offer to attend a game. That was not the only shocking point. Swift was spotted with Kelce’s mother Donna as the team played the Chicago Bears and won the game. The two were spotted leaving the game together by TMZ.
September 26th: Kelce reflects on Swift attending the winning game
Kelce and his brother reflect on the game on New Heights podcast. Kelce was surprised, that Swift attended the game.
“That was pretty ballsy. That was pretty ballsy, yeah. I just thought it was awesome how everybody in the suite had nothing but great things to say about her, the friends and family — she looked amazing.”
He goes on to say, “Everybody was talking about her in great light, and on top of that, the day went perfectly for Chiefs fans, of course.”
The NFL player shares is favorite part of the game was seeing the “slow-motion chest bumps” “the high-fives with my mom” and the “Chiefs Kingdom excitement.”
There were two wins that night for Travis Kelce.
