Louis Vuitton Celebrates 200 years with "200 Trunks, 200 Visionaries: The Exhibition"

The French fashion house Louis Vuitton is celebrating the creator's 200-year anniversary with a display of 200 innovative trunks. After being in France, Singapore, and Beverly Hills, the trunks finally made it to our very own Madison Avenue in New York City.

The exhibition "200 Trunks, 200 Visionaries” honors Louis Vuitton's legacy as a trunk maker in Paris before creating his own brand in 1854.

The Experience

The building has three floors, and several rooms, each with their own aesthetics, and trunk designs as well as scannable QR codes that give viewers more insight into the artists who created them. While some are more innovative—the floating trunk for example—others are more artistic, and creative.

In the downstairs area, visitors have the chance to create their own miniature trunks and express their inner artists.

Many celebrities attended the opening of the exhibition wearing Louis Vuitton clothes, including influencer Emma Chamberlain, and actresses Danai Gurira, Shay Mitchell, and Nina Dobrev.
