Ed Sheeran Created the Perfect Fall Album
As fall settles in the air, Ed Sheeran’s new album, Autumn Variations, brings the cozy vibe needed for the season. The 14-track album was released this past Friday and has no singles or music videos for the album.
Autumn Variations is Sheeran’s first album released under his independent label Gingerbread Man Records. A live edition was released on Monday and features versions of each song recorded in different fan’s living rooms. There is a clear push towards an intimate vibe of the album that coincides with its autumn roots.
Sheeran speaks on how fall evenings with his wife and friends inspired him to write an album with the recurring theme of fall. The album cover features small graphics connecting all the lyrics back to this ongoing theme. Sheeran has said that all 14 songs tie back to 14 of his close friends.
On the release date, Sheeran was spotted at Rockefeller Center in New York City at the pop up event promoting his album. It was the day New York City was dealing with flooding, but he showed up regardless to play a few songs from the album. He also took time to take photos with everyone who had stopped by the event.
Autumn Variations is now available for streaming on Spotify and Apple Music. What is your favorite song off the album? Comment down below.
